Time Flies Like a Banana…?

I usually don’t post literature or things like that, but I figured I could spare a measly post for a creative little story. A friend of mine from high school (does that ever feel weird to say…) wrote this short story, please enjoy!

Time flies like a banana.
Like an apple.
Through time and space forever soaring with fruity goodness.
A never ending journey to reach the crystal fruit bowl.
With every fruit imaginable. Apples, strawberries, giant pineapples, grapes the size of boulders and oranges as orange as the golden sunset.
Forever there.
Forever ripe.
Never touched.
Never spoiled.
Forever beautiful throughout time.
Awe at its immense wonder.
The fruitbowl of the heavens.
Envy it. Want it.
But never indulge.
Never eat.
Forever just bask in its nutritional value.
Time stops.
The fruit stay wondrous.
Like the glistening ocean and shining sun, these fruit never cease to exist.
But should someone ever eat them, ever defile these godly fruit. Time would crumble, spiral out of control.
Never again sustaining life on earth.
Pure destruction would take over.
Until that banana… Lost in time…
Finds its way back to the legendary crystal fruit bowl.
To reunite with its fruit Brethren.
To once again reign over everything with their juicy glory.
Only then will the universe pull itself back together.
Back into a civilization.
Thanks to the fruit.
The watermelon, the kiwi and yes… Even the tomato.
The great tomato.
The diverse fruit.
The fair fruit.
The all knowing, forever understanding fruit.
The ruler of the rest.
Only it, this supreme being, harnesses the power to control all, to free all and to bring all together.

  1. I don’t understand this post. I must not be getting something basic here.

  2. YYESSSSS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xD

  3. @ Clementine Waggner,

You’re probably not missing a lot. It’s a kinda abstract short story. A friend of mine wrote it, and because it was an interesting creative piece, I figured I could sneak it into my design blog :)

It is what you want to interpret it as. (Think like poetry) :)

  4. OMG I remember this assignment :) good times.
